Golden Retrievers finished

Cody
Copyright Laura Hardie 2009

After my usual tweaking of bits here and there and adding the final touches I’m now happy to call Cody finished. It’s been a while in the making but hopefully, after seeing both dogs together in the completed portrait, the wait has been worth it for their owner.

I’m taking time out from the drawing board for the next couple of weeks and giving my pencils a rest, as it is my ‘holidays’. Sadly I’m not going somewhere hot and exotic, or anywhere nice for that matter, just simply taking a break – we all need one now and then as I'm sure you'll agree. Not sure if I can call it a proper break though as I’m hoping to spend some time on the business side of things like marketing and updating my website – the kind of things that need doing but are always pushed to one side. I will of course be doing them at a leisurely pace, as it is my holidays after all.

When I look at these dogs I think ahhhh... :-) Really beautiful work! Congrats on finishing before your holidays.

Have a fantastic break. Spoil yourself and do lots of fun things. Not too much of that marketing and website updating. Now fun doesn't have to be expensive or exotic. One of the items on my fun list is to try making a sparkly bead, wire - thing (I am aiming for a hanging mobile sort of 'thing'). I saw one in someone's funky garden and so I went and bought some beads. I have no idea how to do this but it will be fun. LOL Maybe a trip to a local craft store would generate a 'fun' project?? No matter what you get up to, have a wonderful holiday!!!

Thank you everyone, as always your comments are much appreciated:)I'm looking forward to my break and keeping everything crossed the weather isn't too bad:)

Hi Teresa, spoiling myself sounds good but normally it ends up costing me money:)I'm definately going to have some fun though and only hope the weather is good to me. Your sparkly bead mobile sounds very interesting and I hope you'll be showing us it on your blog when it's all done:)

Thank you Erik - and welcome to my blog:)

My holiday is going far too quickly for my liking but then isn't that always the way - and it's rained virtually the whole way through!

Excellent work as usual Laura.
I'm testing to see if this works as I hope to start my own blog but not sure if I've worked things out properly. Such a technophobe!!
