I do love Weimaraners and they certainly seem to be appearing in my drawings a lot lately. I’d have one if I could but also want a lab, boxer and cocker spaniel and unfortunately I just don’t have the room (or money:)) so I’ll need to be satisfied with just drawing them for the time being. I had to draw this one as soon as I saw the reference photo as I loved his expression and the intense look in his eyes – would love to know what it was that caught his attention.
A Work in Progress

Not too much left to do now and then it's onto .............another Weim!
I love Weims too :)
ReplyDeleteTruly beautiful drawing! I absolutely love it.
You are so talented. Beautiful work.
ReplyDeleteLaura he is beautiful! Where in the world do you get your amazing ref photos? Do you take your photos yourself?
ReplyDeleteExcellent drawing! Weims are so beautiful. If I could have one of each breed of dog that I am drawn to, I'd need a farm.
ReplyDeleteHis intense gaze is almost unsettling the more I look at it! It does make me wonder what the dog was staring at. A very fresh composition with the head cropped in this way. Beautiful!!!
ReplyDeleteWOW! He is beautiful... I cannot stop looking into those eyes!!
ReplyDeleteThank you:D
ReplyDeleteColette, I don't take all the photos that I use to work from (would love to take credit for this:)) - something might catch my eye on Flickr and the Cocker Spaniels, for example, I found looking through a Cocker forum so it really depends. I do ask permission of course:)
Ha,ha I know what you mean Michelle, Im a bit like that:D
His gaze is what attracted me Teresa - it's almost as if he's hypnotised by what he is looking at:)
