'Weim'
A Work in Progress
Copyright Laura Hardie 2009
I had a bit of a break last week (well from the drawing board at least hence my lack of posts) even though I had every intention of working on my next Cocker Spaniel. I should maybe point out that it wasn’t laziness on my part but down to the fact that I don’t as yet have a reference photo to work from. It wasn’t a problem though as there are always things to keep me busy and it gave me a chance to catch up on a lot of chores that needed doing.
I did find time to pick up my pencils and make a start on one of the Weimaraners I’ve been promising to do for long enough. I just loved the expression on his face – so full of attitude and mischief – and hope that I’ve captured that. It was certainly my aim. Still a long way to go with this drawing and I’ll be working on it between commissions so it might be a while before you see it finished.
I’ve also become one of the millions who are now on Facebook and I invite you to join me there and become a Friend (link is on sidebar). Only problem is I’m spending way too long on there now but what a great way to meet new people and other artists and see their artwork. If I take longer to finish a piece I’ll definitely be blaming Facebook:)

Another stunning piece-to-be. I love weims and you're capturing him so well.
Thank you Colette:)
perfect grey ghost look to him :)
Your work is so impressive. I really enjoy seeing a new post from you.
Gorgeous fellow! Facebook? You go girl. :-)
you have captured him perfectly Laura... but then again you always do, great work, thanks for adding me as a friend on face book.
Looking really good Laura. Thanks for becoming a Facebook friend - I was on hols last week so a bit slow in responding. I try not to visit Facebook more than once a week now as find its too addictive and time-consuming :o)
I prefer the blogging
Thank you for all the great comments:)
Jennifer, I love that description:)
Thank you Vicki, that's good to know as I do wonder if my posts are interesting enough for people to come back regularly:)
Teresa it's very addictive - I find myself on there many times a day to see what everyone is up to. I now know why my daughter is always on it:)
Thank you Grahame for being a Facebook friend - have just seen your portrait of the poodles and they're great. You've really captured them well - I dread the day I am asked to do a poodle as I can't imagine coping with all those curls:)
Hi Sue, hope you had a good holiday:) I know what you mean about Facebook being addictive and time consuming - I should really take a leaf out of your book and only visit once a week.......... but then I might miss something:D
